Medical Offices, Counseling & Therapy Rooms

This one-story medical office building is a 20,500 SF building constructed on a Brownfield site that was previously a parking lot. The challenge was to provide a large quantity of counseling and therapy rooms into the footprint. This was successfully completed by dividing the building into four quadrants, each with a hallway that connects to the Waiting Room. This created a “way-finding” system that allows patients to easily find their way through the building. One quadrant was specifically designed for children, and this allows them to be separated from adults. Another quadrant is administrative offices; the other two have group meeting rooms and therapy rooms. At the center of the building is the core area with waiting room, administrative offices, business offices and other support services for the building. Space planning, layout and interior finishes were carefully specified for the clientele who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and stress. An outdoor patio was included with a privacy fence for patients to have a therapy session, but still have privacy from the street.
